These were easy to assemble and mount on our posts. The batteries are replaceable rechargeable AAs. Overall, we like these, but I doubt I'll buy them again for one reason: They're colored aged copper, but the tops faded to aluminum in the first year. any new ones won't match.I opened these up and they look very elegant and artistic, with the rustic finish and glass design you wont go wrong. I bought a four pack of these and put them on an old wooden 4x4 deck that I just sealed, the lights fit perfectly. There was a little room between the post and the cap because the wood was baked by the sun for so many years that the wood had began to shrivel and crack. I did however try it on a new moist and oily 4x4 @ Home Depot and it fit like a tailored suit. The lights light up my deck perfectly, not so much that it attracts bugs but enough to illuminate a path. I only gave it four stars because I was missing screws in one box and one of my pieces of glass was unnoticeably chipped ( found pieces in the bottom of the box). Well worth the money and now that the price dropped (after I purchased them ) you will get a great product for a great price. Just a side note I quit using my so called bug lights that attract every bug in the neighborhood. I will add photos and update later if any problems occur.We bought the 4 pack of these lights, and then set them aside unopened for a couple months while we completed our fence which we are putting the lights on. When we were ready to install the lights we discovered that one of them was not working.Amazon was unable to help us because it was beyond the return window for the item, and directed us to contact the seller directly. They were so helpful! After trying a few things they suggested to troubleshoot the issue, they sent a new light immediately and I received it within a couple of days with no hassle or fuss! It was a great customer service experience and the lights on our fence look amazing!I installed on regular wood 4x4 posts. Therefore I didn’t have to use the black plastic adapter that other reviews complain about. I would also be upset if I had to use that. They simply fit great and screw in easily on wood posts. I ordered 12 and all 12 arrived and worked flawlessly. They are brighter than my previous ones and more than adequate for accent lighting. They appear and feel sturdy and well made. Time will tell on ultimate durability as I’ve only had them for about a month when I wrote this review.Well here's the deal. Box says for 4x4 posts. Well my posts are not real 4"x4" posts. They were smaller, 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". So No problem, right. Nope, these didn't even fit over the smaller size post as they were still to small. So I did a little work and modified how to attach it to my posts. I cut a cedar board to the size of the rail kit (came with box) for setting on a railing. I attached the cedar board with 2 screws and glue to the top of my posts. Then I attached the solar lights on that. Lights work well. Looks good. Just remember to take out the plastic tab (strap) where the battery (included) is inside glass before attaching the solar lights to your post. Just 2 screws to undo to get to the battery.These are very high quality solar lights. They are made of metal so they will just way longer than the plastic ones. In the end you save money. The light lasts all night long. The lenses are made of bubbled glass so they give off a nice reflection. The squirrels used to knock over the plastic ones I had bought earlier but they are no match for these lights.I really do like that they are made of metal but disappointed they didn’t last longer than a year.These look great and seem higher quality than others we've purchased -- but even on a sunny day in the middle of summer the lights start going out around 2AM or so. I have no expectation at all that in the fall and winter when leaving for work in the dark that the lights will be on at all.
